The Slovak full-length documentary film Slepé lásky (Blind loves, written by Marek Leščák, Juraj Lehotský) won the prize of CICAE at Cannes film festival. It is the one of three prizes of parallel section called Quinzaine des réalisateurs.
The film has been especially modified for blind viewers with a unique sound track.
The main theme of the film is the love of blind people and their searching for happiness. The love between a blind teacher and his wife, love story between a blind Romany and an almost the same similarly handicapped white girl, the wish of young blind woman for a child and a blind girl looking for love on internet.
The movie was well accepted from its first moments of projection and will compete at another film festival in Karlovy Vary (CZ).
The movies are awarded by festival's partner organizations, like CICAE, and Quinzaine des réalisateurs (Directors' Fortnight) which are not a competing part of the festival in Cannes. Two other prizes went to the Belgian Bouli Lanners and the French Claire Simon.
