The Exposition is divided into four parts, which recall events related to the history of the first Czechoslovak Republic.

The first part presents the creation of the Republic and everything leading to its establishment. In addition to the action of the Czechoslovak Legions and figures related to foreign resistance (T.G. Masaryk, E. Benes and M.R. Stefanik) exhibition shows, as well as domestic policy under the Habsburg monarchy and the daily reality of wartime life. Culmination of this part of the exhibition is establishing of an independent state 28th Oct. 1918, and the treasury with the objects that formed the basis of state ideology. Visitors can enjoy some unique items, such as the Washington Declaration composed of many telegrams, the first Czechoslovak Law, Masaryk's lounge suite or the first presidential standard.

On one hand, there is the city's living culture, modern art and design, fashion, politics, cafes and intellectual life, a city surrounded by factories and workers colonies and culture. On the other hand, it captures the countryside with its traditional agricultural, religious and cultural life. Both parts are, however, important to understand the phenomenon of the first Czechoslovak Republic and to create a coherent (though not complete) rebound of this time.

The last part of the exhibition recalls the important personalities associated with that period.
